Family owned and locally operated NOCO, headquartered in Tonawanda, recently expanded its operations in Canada.? NOCO acquired a portfolio of approximately seven thousand heating and transportation fuel customers from Imperial Oil in eastern Ontario.? The transaction has established NOCO as the exclusive Esso Branded Reseller in the area. This territory encompasses over two hundred communities and is home to about two million residents.? New company offices have been established in Trenton, Ottawa, and Pembroke.? The company is already marketing lubricant products in the area and the fuel offering complements the existing book of business.
With this expansion, NOCO added to its truck fleet and is now hiring in the area to keep up with the growing demands of servicing residential, farm, commercial, and industrial customers. As part of the transaction, NOCO also acquired Dunbar Fuels, a family run fuel and lubricants distribution business operating in the Ottawa Valley. The Dunbar brand is well known throughout the area and the family and existing staff will be staying on to continue the tradition of service their customers.? By combining resources with the Dunbar family, NOCO will well positioned to provide outstanding value to fuel users throughout the Ottawa River Valley.
?These business transactions add customers and critical mass to our business portfolio,? said Scott Ernst, director of business development for NOCO Energy Corporation.? ?It expands our presence in a growing market where we can provide customers with a higher level of service, including utilizing technology to allow our customers to place orders and pay their bills online.?? Often known as the ?Silicon Valley? of Canada, the Ottawa region is home to many high technology concerns.? Ernst added, ?Bringing e-commerce applications and a higher degree of website functionality to these sophisticated consumers will help us defend and grow this new portfolio of customers.?
As the second largest Mobil distributor in North America, NOCO?s expansion has created a stronger product mix to more completely serve their customers.? The company provides a full line of Mobil lubricants for automotive, fleet, industrial, metalworking, and specialty needs.
?NOCO has a long history of lubricant operations across Canada, and this acquisition was a strategic step to grow our market share and expand our fuel offerings and add new customers throughout Ontario,? said James D. Newman, president of NOCO Energy Corp. ?We believe the addition of fuels to the product line and new geography allows NOCO to address unmet consumer needs in the territory with local customer service and delivery.?
